Itineary for cochin trip

I would like to share my travel moments during my trip you can consider this as an itineary. i would be posting some destinations i have visited. So i spent 2 days in cochin.
Day 1-Fort kochi:

you can reach fort kochi from ernakulam through ferry or by road.If one travels by ferry it would take less time compared to road after all it depends upon the crowd. So there are various places to visit in fort kochi from the time of British, dutch, portuguese etc.

 1:paradesi synagogue

This place is located at the jew street in fort kochi. This of the oldest and active synagogue .This is a place for worship for Jews.
It is called pardesi because it is inherited from other nation. This place is open on weekdays and on Fridays upto 2:00 pm ,and saturday its closed. There is also spices street, and antique market .This historic places gives pleasent atmosphere.Ticket price might be around Rs.5 per head.

2.Mattancherry palace or dutch palace:

The Mattancherry palace is also called dutch palace. There is a museum inside this palace, and also a temple situated behind this palace.we could'nt explore this place since it was friday and this palace is closed on fridays ,we just took a look from outside. This place is located exactly behind synagogue.A lake sort of thing situated infront of the palace.

3.Santacruz Bascilica:

inside view

This was our third destination of the day, this is among nine bascilica of kerala. It is filled with the beauty of art inside.we spent sometime here. This place also is known for its heritage.since this was also historic place i had a nice time here.

4.St.Francis church

vasco da gama's tomb is situated here, but later on his remains were taken by his son. This was our fourth destination for the day. This was originally built in 1503. This is one of the oldest built european churches in church.I think this was under dutch then taken over by portuguese .At this place floor is without any tiles in it only stone finishing is done.It is almost the same inside as it was before.visitors have to remove their footwear here and move inside.
This place was also filled with historic structures in it.

After this we took a break for the lunch.

4.Fort kochi beach walkway

Fort kochi walkway is a best place for evening walk .Here you get view of arabian sea on the one side and you walk along the ways hitting the bolders on the shore. This gives you the different type of vibe and you feel relaxed. This walkway is the remains of fort emmanuel. There are benches where one can face the sea and relax.
there are also various shops near it .one can have the best time here watching the boats passing by etc...

boilers in the walkway

on the walkway you can also see the steam boilers used in the historic period during dutch , british etc to produce steam with the help of coal etc .

5.Chinese  Fishing  Nets:

Chinese fishing nets are found in cochin. this is one of the mechanism which is still in use now .This is something different i saw ,these are the nets installed at the shore of the sea .while the fisherman pulls the nets the fish gets trapped in it.I couldnt see the fishing since it takes places in the late evenings.
